Hudson Woman Fatally Struck By Vehicle On US-19 In Hernando County

HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – A 76-year-old Hudson woman tragically lost her life after being struck by a vehicle while crossing US-19 near Algood Lane on Monday at around 12:50 pm.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the incident occurred when a Toyota Sienna, driven by a 44-year-old Hudson man, was traveling southbound on US-19.

As the Sienna approached the intersection of Algood Lane, the woman, who was walking eastbound across the highway, entered the vehicle’s path and was struck.

The woman was immediately transported to a nearby hospital but sadly succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the Sienna was uninjured in the crash.

The FHP is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, and no charges have been filed at this time. The names of those involved have not been released pending notification of next of kin.
