PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – A 64-year-old Hudson man was killed in a head-on collision with a tractor-trailer in Pasco County on Tuesday morning.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the crash occurred around 9:24 a.m. on Shady Hills Road near Crela Drive.
The man was driving a Chevy Suburban northbound on Shady Hills Road when he failed to negotiate a curve, crossed into the southbound lanes, and collided nearly head-on with a tractor-trailer driven by a 49-year-old Spring Hill man.

The impact caused significant damage to both vehicles. Sadly, the driver of the Suburban suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
The FHP is investigating the cause of the crash. Shady Hills Road was temporarily closed in both directions while crews worked to clear the scene.
