The driver of the Jeep Cherokee attempted to turn left into a plaza entrance and, in doing so, entered the path of the westbound truck. The vehicles collided, and the Jeep Cherokee rotated and overturned.

The 81-year-old driver was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The driver of the commercial truck was not injured.
