The race for the Republican nomination has taken interesting turns, and former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie could be a potential game-changer in New Hampshire.

While his presidential campaign initially focused on tearing down Donald Trump, some top Republicans in New Hampshire now believe that Christie’s presence in the race could inadvertently pave the way for Trump’s nomination.

In New Hampshire, where the primaries are just a few weeks away, Christie and Haley are currently splitting the Independent vote., according to Politico.

This division poses a significant challenge for Haley, who is aiming to knock off Trump in the state. A recent CBS News poll shows that Trump leads Haley at 44 percent to 29 percent, with Christie at 10 percent.

The survey also revealed that a substantial majority of Christie supporters are also considering Haley as a viable alternative. This overlap in voter preferences highlights the potential impact Christie has on Haley’s prospects.

The presence of Christie in the race makes Haley’s path to victory more challenging.

Jim Merrill, a seasoned campaign strategist, told Politico that Christie’s voters are unlikely to back Trump, suggesting that they could potentially align with Haley if Christie were to withdraw.

However, Christie’s campaign shows no signs of slowing down.

The “Tell It Like It Is PAC,” a pro-Christie outside group, is investing a significant sum of $3.5 million in a TV advertising campaign in New Hampshire.

Christie’s advisers emphasize that no one has asked him to drop out and cite recent encouragement from a former presidential candidate and a potential candidate as reasons to stay in the race.
