At least one top FBI official will be asked to explain the agency’s blatant, liberal political bias that has emerged under President Joe Biden and Attorney General Merrick Garland.
PJ Media reported on Thursday that Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee, which includes Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida, have called a former top FBI official to answer allegations that the Biden administration pressured field agents to inflate the number of cases involving domestic terrorism or white supremacy.
As one unnamed FBI whistleblower told The Washington Times, which also reported on the committee’s quest, “We are sort of the lapdogs as the actual agents doing these sorts of investigations, trying to find a crime to fit otherwise First Amendment-protected activities. If they have a Gadsden flag and they own guns and they are mean at school board meetings, that’s probably a domestic terrorist.”
The GOP members of the committee will talk to Jill Sanborn, the former assistant director of the FBI’s Counterterrorism Division and executive assistant director of its National Security Branch.

Whistleblowers identified Sanborn as one top FBI official who exerted pressure on field agents to boost the number of “domestic violence extremism” cases, the Times reported.
According to the Times two months ago, when Sanborn’s name first surfaced and Republicans expressed a desire to hear more about the alleged padding of stats, Ohio Republican Rep. Jim Jordan wrote to them, “One whistleblower explained that because agents are not finding enough DVE [domestic violence extremism] cases, they are encouraged and incentivized to reclassify cases as DVE cases even though there is minimal, circumstantial evidence to support the reclassification.”
Meanwhile, Jordan added, another whistleblower indicated that top counterterrorism officials within the FBI “pressured agents to move cases into the DVE category to hit self-created performance metrics. This whistleblower identified you [Sanborn] as one official who exerted pressure on agents to reclassify cases as DVE matters.”
As one of the whistleblowers told the Times, “The demand for white supremacy vastly outstrips the supply of white supremacy. We have more people assigned to investigate white supremacists than we can actually find.”

PJ Media noted that the FBI claims that it only targets those “who commit or intend to commit violence and criminal activity that constitutes a federal crime or poses a threat to national security,” and does not pick suspects based on political beliefs.
Yet since entering office, Biden has made clear that he includes a wide swath of American domestic terrorists, white supremacists, or both. That list includes anyone sympathetic to the Jan. 6 rioters, “MAGA Republicans” and other Donald Trump supporters, parents at school board meetings concerned about the leftward drift of education, gun owners, and pro-life activists.
Sanborn is expected to appear before the House Republicans on Dec 2.
