LAKELAND, Fla. — Over the past five years, Jill Green, Founder of Hope House, has asked God to give her a cause to live for.

As she developed her health and wellness business through Arbonne, a cosmetics and nutritional supplement brand, God began to stir her heart about the need for expectant mothers who feel their only option is to terminate their babies.

“I’m really passionate about investing in other people. Therefore, I wanted to create a home where single mothers will be trained on how to live on their own, care for their baby, and grow as individuals.”

Serve, Equip, and Empower is Hope House’s motto, and since the start of Hope House’s development, these three words have already been in action.

As Jill’s dream of opening Hope House was put in her heart, she searched for years for the perfect place, and then about a year ago, a screenshot of the house in the picture above was shown to her.

Closed house showings, no pre-approval for a loan, and no money yet, Jill took a chance with the owner and believed she would attain it.

“I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses.” Joshua 1:3

This verse became Jill’s walking promise. After recording a video in an attempt to raise the funds to secure the house, the owner called and shared with her that his own parents once had a single mothers’ home where he remembered visiting.

After many questions with the owner and a night’s sleep, the next day, the owner called back, saying, “This is an illogical investor decision, but I believe in your cause and have a really good feeling about this.” And just like that, Jill got Hope House.

“We were given 30 days to raise the funds, scared but hopeful. I called a potential legacy donor and made a big ask. By the grace of God, he invested not only what we needed but more.”

Going forward, organizations have partnered with Hope House to provide roofing, plumbing, and electricity, among other services donated.

At the pace of this development, they are aiming to open in the Fall of 2023.

Hope House’s goal is that within 12 months, these first-time, expectant mothers will be equipped and empowered to be self-sufficient and independent.
