VALRICO, Fla. – VALRICO, FL – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) has released the identities of the deceased individuals involved in the murder-suicide that occurred on March 19, 2025, in Valrico.

The deceased victim has been identified as Alexis D. Bolivar-Dalis, 44, and the suspect has been confirmed as Philip E. Cordova, 51.  

Deputies responded to the 2400 block of Drake Elm Terrace after receiving two 911 calls. The first call came from a woman reporting a disturbance, followed by a call from a 12-year-old boy stating that his father had broken into the home. Gunshots were heard shortly thereafter.

Upon arrival, deputies found Bolivar-Dalis inside the residence with multiple gunshot wounds. Outside, they discovered a vehicle and a body on fire, which detectives have now confirmed to be Cordova. Both individuals were pronounced deceased at the scene.  

“This was a tragic and horrifying situation that ended in unimaginable loss,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Our hearts go out to the families affected by this heinous act. No child or loved one should ever be exposed to such violence. If you or someone you know is in a dangerous situation, please reach out. Help is available.”

The HCSO continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.


PREVIOUS REPORT: The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) is investigating a murder-suicide that occurred on the 2400 block of Drake Elm Terrace in Valrico.

On March 19, 2025, at 3:49 a.m., HCSO dispatchers received a 911 call from a woman reporting a disturbance inside her home. In the background, dispatchers could hear an argument involving the woman, her estranged husband, and her boyfriend.

At 3:51 a.m., a 12-year-old boy inside the home called 911, reporting that his father had broken into the residence. Moments later, gunshots were heard.

Deputies arrived on the scene at 3:56 a.m. and discovered the woman’s boyfriend with multiple gunshot wounds. Outside the residence, they found a vehicle and a body believed to be the estranged husband, both on fire. Both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene.

“This was a horrific and senseless act of violence that left two people dead and a woman and her son in unimaginable distress. No one should ever have to experience this kind of tragedy,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “This is a devastating reminder of how dangerous domestic situations can become. The HCSO is continuing its active investigation into the incident.


INITIAL REPORT: The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) is currently conducting a homicide investigation on the 2400 block of Drake Elm Terrace in Valrico.

Details regarding the incident are currently limited as detectives begin their investigation. The HCSO has confirmed the presence of a homicide scene and is actively working to gather information.
