LAKE WALES, Fla. – A 71-year-old Lake Wales man was fatally stabbed at his residence on Ashton Palms Drive early Saturday morning.
Lake Wales Police responded to a 911 call around 6:19 AM and found the victim suffering from a stab wound to the chest. Despite life-saving efforts by first responders, the victim succumbed to his injuries.
Detectives identified 49-year-old Mihaela Mallen of Lake Wales as the suspect. Mallen was arrested without incident and charged with second-degree murder. She is currently being held at the Polk County Jail.
