A man was arrested Tuesday after employees at the Chicagoan Bar in Miami-Dade discovered a body in a freezer behind the bar.

The discovery was made Friday around 3:00 p.m., Local10 reported, citing the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office. A man’s bloodied body was found inside an ice cooler behind the establishment.

Medics and deputies were called to the scene and later pronounced the victim, whose identity has not yet been revealed, deceased. An autopsy was performed Sunday, and the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner’s Officer declared the victim’s cause of death as homicidal violence, according to NBC Miami.

Officials later identified the alleged suspect as 35-year-old Oscar Rivera-Peraza, Local10 reported. Rivera-Peraza was identified by “fraudulent identification credentials that were left on scene and subsequently collected by homicide investigators.”

Rivera-Peraza, a homeless man, was located by Miami-Dade deputies on Tuesday where he was taken in for questioning. The man reportedly gave authorities a “full confession.”

“[Rivera-Peraza] stated that he armed himself with a metal pipe and struck the victim multiple times before placing him within the [Reddy Ice] cooler,” an arrest report obtained by Local10 stated.

Inmate records show Rivera-Peraza was booked on one charge of second-degree murder, and his bond has yet to be set.

There was no mention of a motive behind the alleged murder in the police report, according to Local10.
