In 2019, a man named Michael Samdass vanished without a trace from his home in Canada, leaving his family desperate for answers. For years, they searched tirelessly, clinging to hope while fearing the worst.
Little did they know that their loved one had assumed a new identity as Esja Beelzebub Nodopa, a name associated with darkness and evil.
The shocking discovery came when Nodopa was arrested in Tampa, Florida, for a brutal attack on a woman.
The Vanishing Act
On September 5, 2019, Michael Samdass disappeared without a trace. Leaving behind his cell phone, computer, and car, he seemed to vanish into thin air.
Concerned for his well-being, his family launched an extensive search, plastering posters around town and creating a Facebook page in hopes of gathering any information.
They even offered a substantial reward of $25,000, desperate for any clue that would lead them to their missing loved one.

A Troubled Past
As the investigation into Samdass’s disappearance continued, his family began to uncover a troubling history.
Living in Ontario, Canada, Samdass had exhibited violent outbursts and erratic behavior.
Desperate for answers, his family attempted to have him committed to a mental institution for treatment.
However, each evaluation yielded inconclusive results, leading doctors to believe that he was mentally stable.
An Unprovoked Attack
Nearly four years after his disappearance, Michael Samdass resurfaced in Tampa, Florida, under a new identity, Esja Beelzebub Nodopa.
Nodopa brutally attacked a woman, leaving her with a broken nose, a concussion, and abrasions.
The victim, still in shock, described him as a demon. The attack appeared to be completely unprovoked, leaving the community bewildered and searching for answers.
Unmasking Esja Beelzebub Nodopa
When Nodopa’s mugshot circulated, his family was confronted with a shocking revelation. The image before them was that of their long-lost brother, Michael Samdass.
It was a version of him they never expected to see – unkempt hair, knotted and wild, contrasting with the neat appearance he once maintained.
The transformation was a stark representation of the darkness that had consumed him.
The Descent into Madness
Prior to his disappearance, Samdass’s behavior had taken a disturbing turn.
He had isolated himself, stopped returning calls, and slept excessively.
Angry outbursts became more frequent, and he even faced charges for disrupting the peace at a bank. His sister recalled how he would talk to himself, as if having conversations with the clouds.
These signs of a deteriorating mental state went unnoticed by those around him until it was too late.
A Psychic’s Revelation
Amidst the desperation and uncertainty surrounding Samdass’s disappearance, a missing persons group turned to a psychic for guidance.
The psychic revealed a chilling revelation – Samdass had been murdered and dismembered.
The shocking revelation added another layer of horror to an already perplexing case. Little did they know that the truth was far more disturbing.
The Capture
Over a thousand miles away in Canada, two officers arrived at the doorstep of Samdass’s family with shocking news – their long-lost brother was alive.
However, the revelation came with a terrifying twist.
Samdass had been arrested in Tampa for the violent assault on a woman.
The family was devastated by the news, their relief quickly overshadowed by the knowledge of the pain inflicted upon the victim.
The victim told The Tampa Bay Times it was completely unprovoked. “I have never seen a demon like I saw in that man,” she said.
A group dedicated to finding missing people ran a facial recognition program and obtained a hit on a mug shot from Hillsborough County jail. The fingerprints of a prisoner identifying himself as Nodopa at the Hillsborough County jail matched.
When Samdass’ family saw his mugshot, they told the Tampa Bay Times they were shocked.
“Of course, it’s your brother,” his oldest sister, Reisha Dass, told the Times regarding his mug shot. “It was just not a version of him I expected to see.”
“It’s terrible what happened,” Dass told the Times regarding the assault and the victim. “Terrible. I hate to know what she’s going through.”
Samdass faced a maximum 15-year prison sentence for the charge of aggravated battery with great bodily harm, which was brought against him after his arrest.
After being evaluated by a forensic psychiatrist, Samdass was determined to be incompetent to stand trial.
Hillsborough Circuit Judge Michael decided last week to commit Samdass to the Florida State Hospital during a hearing that lasted less than a minute.
