TAMPA, Fla. – Tampa Police are searching for the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred early Tuesday morning.
Around 2:55 a.m., officers responded to the area of North Orient Road and East 8th Avenue after receiving reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.
The preliminary investigation revealed that an adult male pedestrian was walking north on Orient Road when he was hit from behind by a dark-colored pickup truck, also traveling north.

The driver of the truck fled the scene, leaving the pedestrian with fatal injuries. The victim was transported to a local hospital but was pronounced deceased.
Based on evidence collected at the scene, investigators believe the suspect vehicle is a Nissan Titan. Surveillance footage from a nearby business captured images of the truck.
