HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Hillsborough County residents needing driver’s license services will have a convenient weekend option this Saturday. The Hillsborough County Tax Collector’s Office announced a special “Saturday License Services” event on April 19, 2025, from 9 AM to 2 PM at its Brandon location, offering both student driving services and adult license renewals.
The event, held at the office located at 3030 N Falkenburg Rd., aims to provide a one-stop solution for busy families and individuals. Services will include road tests, knowledge tests, and the issuance of driver’s licenses and learner’s permits for students. Additionally, residents whose driver’s licenses were issued in 2018 or earlier can complete their renewals during these special Saturday hours.

“We’re constantly looking for ways to better serve our community by making essential services more accessible,” said Tax Collector Nancy Millan. “By combining student services with resident driver license renewals on a Saturday, we’re responding to the growing demand while making it easier for our customers to take care of these important matters without disrupting their weekday schedules.”
The initiative comes as Hillsborough County faces a significant increase in demand for driver’s license services. Officials anticipate nearly 490,000 driver’s licenses and IDs will need renewal over the next three years, with approximately 200,000 requiring an in-person visit. Tax Collector offices are already serving over 4,200 customers daily, sometimes reaching 5,000 during peak periods.
This special Saturday event is designed to accommodate the unprecedented demand, offer an option for those unable to visit during standard Monday-Friday business hours, and help reduce wait times during this critical renewal period.
Millan also advised residents to plan ahead. “We encourage residents to check their license expiration dates and take advantage of the ability to renew up to 18 months in advance,” she added. “This can help avoid the expected rush as the 8-year renewal cycle peaks in 2025.”
