Hillsborough Pet Resource Center To Hold Baby Shower Saturday

TAMPA, Fla. – Celebrate Foster Awareness Month with a free event this weekend featuring games, education, and love as Hillsborough County’s Pet Resource Center prepares for kitten season.

The second annual Baby Shower will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 6, at the Pet Resource Center, 440 N. Falkenburg Rd., Tampa, FL 33619.

With many kittens coming into PRC, the shelter’s longest-stay pets must find the foster families or forever homes they deserve.

At the PRC Baby Shower, you can observe and meet pets you are interested in adopting or fostering, have fun at enrichment tables, donate to supply drives, take part in a Name the Kitten Contest, and attend various information sessions. Bake sales and Kona Ice will be on-site.

Sessions scheduled include the following:
• 10-11 a.m.: Kitten Fostering
• 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: Medical and Behavioral Fostering
• 1:30-2:30 p.m.: Dog Fostering
• 3-4 p.m.: Kitten Fostering

The Pet Resource Center is the only open-admissions shelter in Hillsborough County, meaning the shelter accepts all dogs and cats regardless of breed, size, or medical condition.

The shelter is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Photos and information of dogs and cats available for adoption are also available through PRC’s online kennel.
