TAMPA, Fla. – Chairman Les Miller is suggesting the county commissioners dismantle the board as soon as Wednesday.
Miller said, “The problem is that some on the board, like the sheriff, vote, and then enforce policies they don’t agree with.”
“I am asking the board of county commissioners to have a discussion on whether that is something we want to continue to do.”
The EPG, was formed to deal with short-term natural disasters, like hurricanes, and some feel that the mandates and decisions being made by the EPG would be better suited for the Commissioners to make.
What happens to the mandates that are in place by the EPG group? Language from the county attorney has yet to be released.
The EPG will meet as scheduled Thursday.
