DOVER, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash in Dover.
On Saturday, August 13, 2022, at approximately 9:15 p.m., deputies responded to a hit-and-run traffic crash in the 3200 block of Sydney Dover Road.
When deputies arrived, they discovered a male victim with upper body trauma. The victim had been riding a bicycle near or within the northbound lane of Sydney Dover Road when he was struck by an unidentified vehicle. The driver then fled the scene.
Detectives are currently searching for a potential suspect vehicle described as a small, dark-colored pickup truck.
“Fleeing the scene of a crash is not only cruel, but it’s also illegal,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister.”This victim’s family deserves answers, and our detectives are working diligently to solve this case. If anyone has information or recognizes this vehicle, please contact us immediately.”
