HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – In an effort to enhance neighborhood aesthetics and prevent issues related to illegal dumping and code violations, Hillsborough County’s Rapid Response team will be providing a week of free curbside pickup for residents in the Progress Village area.
The initiative, running from Monday, April 28, to Friday, May 2, aims to help residents dispose of unwanted items that can impact the health, safety, and property values of the community.
Residents living within the designated boundaries – North: 85th Drive/Ironwood Avenue, South: Progress Village Middle School, East: South 86th Street, and West: South 78th Street – are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to declutter their properties. The Rapid Response team will collect a wide range of items, including furniture, general junk and debris, metal, electronics, and up to five non-commercial tires per household.

To ensure collection, residents must place their items at the curb no later than 5 a.m. on their designated collection day. Placing items out the night before is highly recommended.
This community cleanup is funded through annual solid waste assessments paid by property owners within Hillsborough County, demonstrating a direct reinvestment in neighborhood well-being. Hillsborough County Code Enforcement is actively encouraging residents to utilize this service to restore their properties and avoid potential code violations.
