TAMPA, Fla. – A fire broke out at the Hillsborough County Waste Transfer Station on Linebaugh Avenue in Tampa on Tuesday afternoon.
Hillsborough County Fire Rescue (HCFR) responded promptly to 911 calls from workers reporting large piles of trash and debris ablaze at around 5:26 PM.

The fire was contained to the trash piles and did not extend to the structure itself.
HCFR crews quickly extinguished the fire within 90 minutes, preventing any injuries to civilians, workers, or firefighters. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
