HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Just as darkness fell on Monday evening, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Marine Enforcement Section utilized their new SAFE Boat to rescue boaters stranded in the bay.

The distressed vessel was taking on water, had lost power, and was unable to return to shore. HCSO deputies arrived just in time, bringing the boaters safely back to the Williams Boat Ramp.

This successful rescue highlights the importance of the HCSO’s investment in the SAFE Boat and the dedication of its Marine Enforcement deputies in ensuring the safety of those on the water.

“I can’t say enough good things about our Marine Enforcement Section and their poise in this situation,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “We were able to get the boaters safely ashore and work with SeaTow to get their vessel removed from our water.”
