Utilizing information from the rental company, investigators traced the vehicle back to Gasperson, who had rented the car. Further corroboration came when an acquaintance of Gasperson reviewed surveillance footage and positively identified him as the perpetrator in all three robberies.

Following his arrest, deputies conducted a search of the rental vehicle, uncovering evidence that directly tied Gasperson to the crimes. Authorities also discovered illegal substances during the search, leading to additional drug-related charges.
