TAMPA, Fla. – In a successful joint operation, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office K9 Section and Gang Unit apprehended two fugitives in Tampa on August 15, 2024.

On Thursday, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) K9 Section assisted the Gang Unit in serving a felony warrant near the 9600 block of North 16th Street in Tampa.

Upon arrival, deputies located Tevin Howard, 33, inside the residence. Howard had an outstanding warrant from Manatee County for Grand Theft and was taken into custody without incident.

During the operation, another individual, Kelly Washington, 36, attempted to flee the scene through a bedroom window. Washington had multiple outstanding warrants and was also apprehended without incident.

“The great teamwork between our K9 Section and Gang Unit ensured a swift and effective resolution to these arrests,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Our team’s quick response and coordination led to the safe arrest of both suspects, demonstrating the dedication and efficiency that they bring to every operation.”
