HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office conducted an undercover gang operation, resulting in the arrest of a seven-time convicted felon.
Over the past six months, HCSO’s Gang Unit investigation led to the arrest of Lavanda Tillman, 38, a seven-time convicted felon and member of the Money Power Respect gang. Throughout this investigation, detectives recovered three firearms, including one that was reported stolen and several narcotics.
On January 17, 2024, through investigative means, HCSO’s Gang Unit coordinated the arrest of Tillman, and he was taken into custody without incident.

Detectives found narcotics in Tillman’s vehicle, which were taken into evidence in connection to this investigation.
Tillman was charged with:
- Trafficking in Amphetamine 200 Grams or More
- Felon in Possession of a Firearm x3
- Possession of Firearm with Serial Number Removed
- Possession of Cannabis Less Than 20 Grams
- Possession of a Controlled Substance
- Delivery of a Controlled Substance x2
- Delivery of a Controlled Substance Fentanyl
- Possession of a Controlled Substance (Opiate) Fentanyl
“Our undercover detectives operated with discretion and efficiency, risking their lives to prevent this criminal from inflicting harm in our community,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “We are relentless at ensuring that those who attempt to bring their dirty work into our county face the full force of the law.” This investigation is ongoing; any additional updates will come from the Public Affairs Office.
