HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Aviation Section played a crucial role in tracking down and apprehending suspects involved in the theft of a Hyundai Elantra on August 20, 2024.
Deputies in the Aviation unit spotted the stolen vehicle in the vicinity of Martin Luther King Jr Blvd and 22nd St. N. They maintained visual contact as the suspects continued driving towards the Big Bend Drive and 301 Highway area.

Upon stopping the vehicle, the suspects attempted to flee on foot but were quickly apprehended by deputies on the ground.
“Our Aviation Section and Auto Theft Unit once again demonstrated their dedication to keeping our community safe,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Thanks to their seamless coordination and quick action, we were able to apprehend the suspects involved.”
