HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office will participate in National Prescription Drug Takeback Day on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event will encourage residents to drop off unwanted medications at designated locations for proper disposal.
HCSO will facilitate drop-off points at two locations in Hillsborough County, ensuring convenient access for community members. These locations include:
- Brandon Hospital at 119 Oakfield Drive, Brandon, FL
- Walgreens at 8398 Sheldon Road, Tampa, FL

“Proper disposal of prescription drugs is crucial in preventing misuse, abuse, and environmental harm,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “By participating in events like the DEA Drug Takeback, we empower our community to take proactive steps in protecting public health and safety.”
Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to dispose of their unused or expired medications safely and responsibly.
