HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Hispanic Advisory Council will package and distribute more than 200-holiday meals to families in need this Saturday. HCSO Hispanic Advisory Council members and volunteers are hosting a drive-thru food drive at the Dover Boys and Girls Club on Saturday, December 12, from 10 a.m. to noon.
Families receiving the free meals were pre-selected by the Dover Boys and Girls Club, Dover RCMA Child Development Center and staff at Dover Elementary School based on need.
The meals, purchased by Hispanic Advisory Council members, will include a turkey or ham, vegetables, fruit, and bread. Volunteers will prepackage the food, allowing families to easily pick up the items with limited contact. Volunteers will place the food in each family’s vehicle during the drive-thru event.
“We know that this has been a tough year with many families losing their source of income due to the ongoing pandemic,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “We are hoping by providing more than 200 families with meals, we will be able to brighten their holidays during these difficult times.”
