The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is making buying and selling goods online safer thanks to a new partnership with OfferUp, a mobile-friendly platform designed to help users buy and sell locally.

HCSO is now a designated OfferUp “Community MeetUp Spot,” or, in other words, an internet purchase exchange location. Each district office is equipped with signage and video cameras that will ensure the safety of those meeting at HCSO.

“Your Sheriff’s Office is always looking for innovative ways to meet the needs of our community, one of which is safety and security during online transactions,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Each district office is already designated as a Safe Space, and this new designation with OfferUp emphasizes our commitment to our residents.”
