HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office uncovered a spree of thefts targeting retail giants and recovered thousands of dollars worth of stolen products.
HCSO’s Organized Retail Theft (ORT) Working Group orchestrated a strategic operation targeting two suspects responsible for six thefts from Targets and Home Depots within Hillsborough County. Christopher Hawkins, 37, and Thianna Robinson, 23, were suspected of stealing more than $8,000 worth of merchandise, as well as stealing in other counties.
On Tuesday, January 2, 2024, the ORT, working within the operation, arranged to buy stolen merchandise from the suspects. Hawkins arrived with some of the stolen items and was arrested.

“The meticulous investigation of our Organized Retail Theft Working Group exemplifies our detailed and diligent efforts in combatting this crime. This successful operation not only brought a suspect to justice but also reclaimed over $11,500 in stolen goods,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Let this serve as a warning: retail theft is not a victimless crime, and we will undoubtedly pursue those who aim to disrupt our local economy.”
Hawkins is facing multiple charges, including Retail Theft of $3,000 or More and Dealing in Stolen Property. A felony arrest warrant has been issued for Thianna Robinson.
Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is asked to contact HCSO at (813)247-8200.
