THONOTOSASSA, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred Wednesday night at a Circle K convenience store in Thonotosassa.
38-year-old Dean Henderson, a two-time convicted felon, was taken into custody on Thursday, January 16th, and charged with felon in possession of a firearm and tampering with physical evidence.

On Wednesday, January 15th, around 8:30 PM, deputies responded to the Circle K located at 11755 County Road 579 following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found 37-year-old Paul Strickland with a gunshot wound. Strickland was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Through investigative means, detectives identified Henderson as the shooter. He was apprehended and charged the following day.
The investigation remains active.
