TAMPA, Fla. – An investigation by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Auto Theft Unit has led to the recovery of a stolen vehicle and the arrest of two individuals. On Friday, April 18, 2025, detectives executed a search warrant in the 1400 block of E. Powhatan Avenue in Tampa as part of an ongoing probe into vehicle thefts in the area.

Upon arrival at the residence, detectives observed suspects actively removing items from a stolen vehicle that was parked in the backyard.

The vehicle was subsequently recovered at the scene. Further investigation and a search of the property yielded additional evidence directly linking the suspects to the auto theft case.

As a result of the operation, two individuals were taken into custody and now face multiple felony charges, including Grand Theft.

“If you think you can steal from hardworking people and get away with it, think again,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “There is no excuse for targeting members of our community, and we will continue to take a strong stand against those who commit these crimes.”
