Hillsborough County Sheriff Charges 2-Time Felon For Drug Trafficking

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – An undercover operation by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office turned up a stolen gun and a number of drugs and the arrest of a convicted felon.

Over the past month, the efforts of HCSO’s Opioid Overdose Investigations (OOI) Section led to the arrest of Nicholas Davis, 34, a two-time convicted felon. Throughout this investigation, detectives recovered one firearm that was reported stolen and several narcotics.

Detectives conducted a three-week investigation leading to his arrest. During the operation, Davis was found to be in possession of a stolen firearm and ammunition, 14.1 grams of MDMA, 3.3 grams of cocaine, and 10 grams of marijuana.

Detectives also found what they suspected to be 3.5 grams of Fentanyl. This has been sent to FDLE for further investigation. More charges might be forthcoming.

“I am so proud of our detectives who worked diligently in this operation to get this criminal out of the streets, risking their lives to protect our community from this harmed individual,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Let this be a warning to anyone who seeks to bring illegal business into our county. We will not tolerate it, and you will be held accountable for your actions.”

Davis was charged with:

  • Armed Trafficking in MDMA (10 to 200 Grams)
  • Felon in Possession of a Firearm (x2)
  • Armed Possession of Cocaine
  • Delivery of Cannabis
  • Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Sell, Manufacture, or Deliver
  • Carry Concealed Weapon
