HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Hillsborough County is inviting residents and business owners to share their experiences with the significant flooding events of 2024, including seasonal rainfall and the impacts of Hurricanes Debby, Helene, and Milton. The county is hosting a series of public meetings, with the first two scheduled for this week in Riverview and Carrollwood.

These meetings are part of a comprehensive effort by Hillsborough County to evaluate the cumulative flooding impacts and explore potential regional flood mitigation and resiliency strategies. The county has enlisted an outside engineering firm to conduct an independent assessment of how the 2024 severe rain events affected stormwater infrastructure.

Community input is a critical component of this assessment. Residents and business owners are strongly encouraged to attend the meetings to provide details on how the storms affected roads, private property, and commercial establishments. • Monday, April 22, 2025, at 6 p.m. at the Riverview Public Library, 9951 Balm Riverview Rd., Riverview, FL 33569.
