HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – In response to the ongoing cleanup efforts following Hurricane Helene, Hillsborough County is limiting access to its landfill and solid waste facilities.
Due to limited capacity and the large volume of storm debris, these facilities will only accept waste from Hillsborough County residents and contractors with valid photo ID.

Restricted Access Locations:
Effective immediately, the following locations will require proof of residency:
- Northwest County Solid Waste Facility: 8001 W Linebaugh Ave, Tampa, FL 33625
- South County Solid Waste Facility: 13000 US-41, Gibsonton, FL 33534
- Southeast County Landfill: 15960 County Road 672 Lithia, FL 33547
Community Collection Centers:
The following Community Collection Centers already require photo ID and will continue to do so. These centers have extended their hours to 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Sunday, October 6th:
- Alderman’s Ford Solid Waste Facility: 9402 County Road in Plant City
- Hillsborough Heights Solid Waste Facility: 6209 County Road in Seffner
- Northwest County Solid Waste Facility: 8001 W. Linebaugh Avenue in Tampa
- South County Solid Waste Facility: 13000 US Hwy 41 in Gibsonton
- Wimauma Solid Waste Facility: 16180 W. Lake Drive in Wimauma

This measure is being implemented to ensure that Hillsborough County residents have adequate access to waste disposal services during the post-hurricane recovery period.
