Hillsborough County Residents Who Sustained Losses from Hurricane Idalia Can Apply for Federal Assistance

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. - Hillsborough County residential property owners and renters whose homes sustained damage and losses from Hurricane Idalia can apply for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Individual Assistance.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Hillsborough County residential property owners and renters whose homes sustained damage and losses from Hurricane Idalia can apply for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Individual Assistance. 

The Florida Division of Emergency Management announced that FEMA has approved Individual Assistance for Hillsborough County. 

To apply for FEMA disaster assistance, visit DisasterAssistance.gov, use the FEMAapp  for smartphones, or call (800) 621-3362. Phone lines are open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day.

The assistance could include financial help for temporary lodging, basic home repairs, and other disaster-related expenses. 

The Florida Division of Emergency Management and Hillsborough County are also working to identify a disaster recovery center to assist residents whose property was impacted by Hurricane Idalia.

Once details are confirmed, both agencies will provide updated information letting residents know where and when they can visit the recovery center in Hillsborough County.
