POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A high-speed pursuit that began earlier this month in Hillsborough County spilled into Polk County, resulting in the arrests of two individuals who allegedly caused multiple crashes while fleeing law enforcement.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd addressed the incident on Monday, emphasizing the collaborative effort between his deputies, Hillsborough County deputies, and the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to Sheriff Judd, the incident unfolded on April 15, as Hillsborough County deputies were pursuing a vehicle that crossed the county line into Polk County. The vehicle, traveling on the interstate, was reportedly “creaming into cars.” Judd said.+

And the fine Troopers.”

Sheriff Judd identified the individuals arrested as Ahjai Prince, 25, from Pine Hills in Orange County, and Darren Brown, 33, from Altamonte Springs.

“Ahjai Prince is 25. She’s from Pine Hills. We also call that crime hills over in Orange County. Then there’s Darren Brown. He’s 33, he’s from Altamonte Springs,” Sheriff Judd explained.

“But guess where they ended up going to… the Hillsborough jail. Yeah, after they crashed their car over here, they broke into ran into Owen’s Corning business. That’s a burglary,” Sheriff Judd elaborated.

Sheriff Judd detailed the charges the individuals now face. “So they committed burglaries, fleeing, leaving the scene of a crash with property damage. These are some bad actors. And now they’re in jail.”

The sheriff highlighted the seamless cooperation between the different law enforcement agencies involved in apprehending the suspects.
