Hillsborough County Prepares For Potential Heavy Rain With Sandbag Sites

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – In anticipation of potential heavy rainfall, Hillsborough County is taking proactive measures to assist residents. Two sandbag distribution sites will be open this Saturday, October 5th, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.

Sandbag Locations:

  • E.G. Simmons Conservation Park: 2401 19th Ave. NW, Ruskin, FL 33570 (Park closed to the public on Saturday)
  • Ed Radice Sports Complex: 14720 Ed Radice Drive, Tampa, FL 33626 (Park remains open to the public on Saturday)

Important Information:

  • Each Hillsborough County resident can receive up to 10 sandbags per vehicle.
  • Proof of residency is required, such as a driver’s license or utility bill.
  • Residents will need to fill their own sandbags.

This proactive approach by Hillsborough County aims to help residents safeguard their homes and properties against potential flooding caused by the anticipated heavy rain.
