HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – With temperatures predicted to plummet below 40 degrees with wind chill, Hillsborough County is activating its cold weather shelters program to provide a safe haven for those without adequate heating. The shelters will be open Wednesday, January 22nd, through Friday, January 24th, offering warmth and temporary housing to those in need.
Recognizing the potential for high demand and limited capacity, county officials are urging residents to exhaust all other options, such as staying with friends or family, before seeking shelter space.
