HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – With temperatures expected to plummet tonight, Hillsborough County is activating its cold weather shelters to provide refuge for those without adequate heating.

The National Weather Service forecasts temperatures to dip to or below 40 degrees Fahrenheit with wind chill in Hillsborough County on Wednesday night.

To ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable residents, the county is partnering with several organizations to offer temporary shelter. However, due to anticipated high demand and limited capacity, residents are encouraged to seek shelter with friends or family first, if possible.
