TAMPA, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of an inmate who passed away at a local hospital on Tuesday.
Jesse Burnett, 59, was transported from the Falkenburg Road Jail to Brandon Regional Hospital on Monday, February 24th, around 11:30 p.m. for a medical-related event. His condition deteriorated after arriving at the hospital, and he was pronounced dead at approximately 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

The Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause of death. Burnett’s next of kin has been notified.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Burnett’s death.
