Hillsborough County Holiday Closures For Independence Day

Most Hillsborough County offices and facilities will be closed on Thursday, July 4th in observance of Independence Day. They will reopen for regular business hours on Friday, July 5th.

Here’s what’s closed:

  • County offices: All administrative offices will be closed, including the Customer Service Center.
  • Trash collection: There will be no garbage, recycling, or yard waste pickup on Thursday in unincorporated areas. Service will resume on your next scheduled collection day. All disposal facilities will also be closed.
  • Libraries: All Hillsborough County Public Library branches will be closed.
  • Parks & Recreation: Summer camps, recreation centers, skate parks, sports complexes, and the Pet Resource Center will be closed.
  • Public transportation: The Sunshine Line will not be operating.
  • Development Services and Entrepreneur Collaborative Center: These offices will be closed.

What’s Open:

  • Parks and outdoor recreation: Enjoy the holiday outdoors! All parks, dog parks, nature preserves, trails, boat ramps, and conservation parks will be open.
  • Emergency services: For urgent water or wastewater issues, call Hillsborough County at (813) 744-5600. Animal Control can be reached at (813) 744-5660 for emergencies only.
