BRANDON, Fla. – Hillsborough County Fire Rescue (HCFR) crews responded to a residential structure fire in Brandon on Thursday afternoon, successfully bringing the blaze under control.
At approximately 1:36 PM, the HCFR emergency dispatch center received multiple 911 calls reporting a fire at a home located on Oakridge Manor Drive. The first fire unit to arrive on the scene encountered heavy smoke and flames. Visible flames extended through the roof of the single-family residence.
Firefighters initially entered the dwelling to combat the fire from the interior. However, due to rapidly deteriorating conditions, the incident command decided to withdraw crews and transition to exterior operations.
