HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla.– Hillsborough County Fire Rescue fought a residential structure fire in Town N’ Country early Thursday morning, saving the family dog.

The emergency dispatch center received multiple 911 calls at 2:27 A.M. from individuals reporting smoke and flames were coming from a house on Eldorado Drive.

“Our first engine’s arrival was met with heavy fire and flames. Firefighters advanced handlines into the structure, controlling the blaze in just over 15 minutes, limiting its spread to the remainder of the house,” said HCFR PIO Rob Herrin.

Crews conducted searches of the residence, and no occupants were found.

One dog was rescued, officials say.

No first responders or civilians were injured. The fire investigator has determined the cause to be electrical.
