TAMPA, Fla. – Hillsborough County Fire Rescue battled a residential structure fire early Friday morning. 

Officials say the emergency dispatch center received a 911 call at 3:10 AM Friday from a first-party caller reporting a fire at a house on Croton Avenue in Tampa. 

The first arriving engine, Engine 37, reported smoke and flames coming from the residence. Crews pulled hose lines to fight the fire from inside and were able to extinguish the blaze within 20 minutes.

Additional crews conducted primary and secondary searches, assisted with water supply, and performed additional firefighting operations.

There were no occupants inside the house at the time of the fire. One firefighter was transported due to an injury sustained at the scene, and he is in stable condition.

The American Red Cross has been called in to assist the displaced family. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
