TAMPA, Fla. – Hillsborough County Fire Rescue fought a residential structure Monday at around 9:00 am.
“Our 911 dispatch center received multiple 911 calls from first-party callers reporting fire coming from a house on the 4000 block of East Sligh Avenue at just after 9:00 A.M.,” said HCFR.
The first arriving units reported heavy fire coming from the front of the residence. Crews pulled a hose line and advanced it into the house, knocking the blaze down and limiting its spread.

There was a report of occupants inside the house, which resulted in an immediate rapid search.
Fortunately, it was determined all occupants exited the residence safely.
Firefighters rescued two dogs and three snakes, which were unharmed. The fire was deemed under control within 15 minutes of the arrival of the first fire engine.
There were no injuries to civilians or first responders, and the Fire Investigations Unit investigated the cause and determined it to be accidental.
