TAMPA, Fla. – Hillsborough County Fire Rescue (HCFR) swiftly responded to a pair of residential structure fires this afternoon in Tampa, successfully preventing further spread and ensuring no injuries.
At approximately 3:29 PM, the county’s emergency dispatch center received multiple 911 calls reporting a fire originating at 6507 Johns Road. Callers indicated that the blaze had quickly spread to an adjacent home.

The first fire engine arriving on the scene encountered significant fire involvement in portions of both neighboring residences. Firefighters immediately deployed hose lines to aggressively combat both blazes. Their rapid and coordinated efforts contained the fire, preventing it from engulfing the remainder of either structure.
Following the initial knockdown of the flames, HCFR crews conducted thorough searches of both residences. Fortunately, no occupants were found inside either home. There were no reported injuries to civilians or any of the responding firefighters.
The Hillsborough County Fire Investigations Unit is now on the scene, working to determine the origin and cause of the fires.
