TAMPA, Fla. – Hillsborough County Fire Rescue fought a house fire in Tampa Tuesday afternoon.
At 3:20 PM, emergency 911 calls flooded the emergency dispatch center from individuals reporting visible flames and smoke coming from a residence on Jean Street in Tampa.
Responding units saw a column of smoke from a distance and called a working fire.
“Our first arriving crews were encountered with flames through the roof of the single-story residence. Crews deployed hose lines to battle the blaze, suppressing it in under 20 minutes,” said HCFR.

Firefighters searched the residence; no occupants were found, and no civilians or first responders were injured.
The American Red Cross has been called to assist the displaced residents.
“Our Fire Investigation Unit is on the scene working on determining the cause,” said HCFR.
