BRANDON, Fla – Hillsborough County Fire Rescue fought a residential structure fire Wednesday at 906 Stratford Manor Drive in Brandon.

Officials say a 911 call came into the dispatch center at 7:19 AM from a second-party caller stating smoke was coming from the garage roof.

The first arriving engine, Engine 45, reported heavy smoke coming from the attic, called a working fire, and deployed an attack line to initiate an interior attack.

When they entered the structure, they were met with flames near the kitchen and smoke down to the floor throughout the residence.

The firefighters were able to contain the fire in 10 minutes.

Additional crews assisted with water supply, conducted searches, and helped with firefighting operations. During the search, firefighters found a dog that had succumbed to the conditions within the house.

There were no injuries to civilians or first responders. Our fire investigator is currently working to determine the cause.
