RUSKIN, Fla. – Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded to a working boat fire at the Little Harbor Marine in Ruskin on Thursday morning.
“Our emergency dispatch center received the 911 call at 9:12 AM from a first-party caller reporting a fire on a vessel moored to the end of the dock at the marina,” said HCFR.
Engine 17 was the first unit on the scene, reporting heavy smoke from the 55-foot yacht.

Crews advanced handlines up the dock to the vessel to begin attacking the blaze. Fire Boat 29 arrived on the scene and assisted by de-watering the vessel to prevent it from sinking.
Additional crews assisted with firefighting operations and searched the vessel. There were no occupants, and the owner was accounted for.
There were no reported injuries, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
