RIVERVIEW, Fla. – Hillsborough County Fire Rescue (HCFR) battled a multiple semi-trailer blaze in Riverview on Tuesday.
Around 2:18 pm, HCFR’s Emergency Dispatch Center received multiple 911 calls from individuals reporting a fire at the above address.
A large column of smoke could be seen from a distance, and the first arriving crews reported heavy fire and smoke coming from the salvage and repair yard.

Crews deployed multiple hose lines and an elevated stream to extinguish the blaze. The fire involved several semi-trailers along with other scrap metal.
It took crews approximately 30 minutes to extinguish the fire. There were no injuries to civilians or first responders, officials say.
The cause was determined to be related to sparks from metalwork igniting dry brush that spread to a tire of one of the trailers. Workers on the scene attempted to extinguish the tire but could not, which yielded their call to 911.
