RIVERVIEW, Fla. – Hillsborough County Fire Rescue on scene battling 3-alarm warehouse fire Hillsborough County Fire Rescue is on the scene of a 3-alarm large warehouse fire in Riverview.
At 9:07 A.M. Tuesday morning, our 911 dispatchers received a call from a first-party caller reporting a fire at 6516 South 78th Street in Riverview.
After reporting a large column of smoke from a distance, Engine 1 got on the scene first and saw heavy smoke inside the metal warehouse-type building. They deployed a handline to begin an interior attack but were met with heavy fire conditions once they made entry.

Battalion Chief 3 took command and ordered an exterior, defensive attack on the blaze. Firefighters then relied on aerial and ground master streams to battle the deep-seated fire.
It took crews approximately an hour and forty-five minutes to contain the blaze.
There are currently 26 units on the scene working to ensure it is completely extinguished. There have been no reported injuries to firefighters or civilians, and the cause is under investigation.
