HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Following Hurricane Milton, Hillsborough County is making it easier for residents and businesses to get the repairs they need. The county is offering expedited permitting for minor repairs to residential and commercial structures.
If your repairs don’t require a plan review, you can apply for a permit online and receive it immediately. This streamlined process aims to help residents get back on their feet quickly.

For those who need assistance or lack internet access, in-person help is available at the Frederick B. Karl County Center (601 E. Kennedy Blvd., Tampa) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Permit Extensions and Re-Issuance Also Available
If you have an existing building permit that’s about to expire or has recently expired, you can request an extension or re-issuance through the County’s online permitting system, HillsGovHub.
Major Repairs and FEMA Reimbursement
