HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – As Hillsborough County experiences an unusually prolonged period of freezing temperatures, a fifth cold weather shelter has been added to the network, providing additional capacity for those seeking refuge from the cold. Greater New Hope Anointed Ministry in Plant City joins four other faith-based organizations in offering overnight shelter to vulnerable residents.

The National Weather Service forecasts continued frigid temperatures, with wind chills dipping below 40 degrees for at least the next two days. This has prompted the County’s Cold Weather Shelter program to remain active for a record five consecutive nights.
